Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Lisa, closing in on 1000 signatures now. If you know anyone else who might sign please encourage them to do so. Campaign went quiet over the summer but will start picking up again now hopefully.

The line is due to close in October/November for 3 to 4 miles of track relay South of Cloughjordan.

Great to see the older track being removed and replaced with continuous welded rail.

Absolutely. It should have been part of the design of Shannon 60 or 70 years ago. I think there was actually a suggestion at the time that the airport could have been built near Birdhill. Dont remember the exact details.

There is talk of a new park and ride station being added to the Ballybrophy line near Finnegan's roundabout as well. Annacotty/M7 Station. Park and ride bus connections from there to UL, City Centre, The Crescent, industrial estates, LIT etc etc would be brilliant for workers and students.

The entire Ballybrophy line would need to be upgraded for this to work though.

A station on the current line near thomandpark would serve LIT. In an ideal world would be handy a train to shannon airport (if they in turn could sort flights)

It will be interesting to see what the Shannon spur report comes up with. I think there was talk of a stop near the Parkway and another out near Moyross. That is as close to LIT and Thomond Park as the Ennis line runs.

Connecting Ireland plan published. TFI/NTA recommend no change to the current timetable. More bus services for Nenagh and Thurles planned. Including an Athlone to Clonmel service via Nenagh and Thurles every two hours. Better than the current Shamrock/Bernard Kavanagh service which is twice daily at 11:20am and 18:00. This bus service will link Nenagh Station to Thurles.
