Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

In Hitler's defence, he did have Speer create a style Bible for his lot that included the tilted swastika, so it's totally different ;)

Ballyfermot had a few. In the 90s there was a newsagents on the main street called Sesame Street with its characters on the signage. Another later one was Ballyfermot Bargain Centre, with a logo very similar to the 60s/70s BBC parallelogram logo. I might have a photo of it somewhere.

Also Mario Bros pizza in Dundrum in the last decade or so.

Let’s look at a serious clever but devious one that is intended to trick people when buying products.

The good old CE mark people rely upon to show goods meet their European standards and so are safe. But the Chinese authorities ripped it off and put a China Export logo on goods.

    https://images.app.goo.gl/NiFqEMYkEuDYmrHh9

Really think this is the worst as it covers so much trade, tricks people and has potentially safety implications as products likely meet no appropriate standards at all.

Some of the beers in Aldi are good, they have a San Miguel rip off called San Paolo or something, and a Czech beer that looks just like Staropramen. And the Budweiser rip off called "Breyser" or something like that.

I wrote his song years ago. Many different styles, some say it was a few different songs in one. Some potential I thought. No says one of my friends, it's a bit all over the place, too many changes, you should forget about it and just focus on your job and your family. "You're right" says I, and I go to put the manuscript in the bin. "Here, I'll do that, you head on" says he taking the sheet off me. "Thanks bud, talk to you" says I, and we head off in our different directions.

Next weekend, there's these lads called Queen belting out my song on the telly, only they changed the name of it from "A Rhapsody from Bohemia" to something else. Hadn't seen my friend in the interim, and haven't seen him since. The cur must have sold off my song to them.

And apparently, I never wrote it either, they just had the legal lads pull some strokes, so nay'er a penny for me from it.

But those that know, know the truth.

I think it is not possible to copyright three initials. Even if it was, the BBC are in the UK and they cannot impose any ruling in Ireland.

No, their logo is Trade Marked (copyright is for creative works, trade marks are what protect logos and brand identity). As an international organisation (they do have a World Service), there’s no way they don’t have the logo trademarked everywhere.

Here’s all the BBC trademarks in the EU:

The particular photo may be, but the laundry itself opened in 1912. I remember the chimney with the logo still being there as a kid in the 70s/80s.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swastika_Laundry

The chimney is still standing and incorporated into a modern office block, but the name and logo are gone.

It's quite prevalent in Hindu and Buddhist cultures where it's used as a symbol of divinity and spirituality.

There's a certain poster in the Trump/Biden threads who quite often plagarises whole articles from sites. He changes/rewords small parts to make it look like his own work. When called out on this he will either totally ignore any posts mentioning it or disappear for a few days and come back as if nothing happened.

It's got to the point where you have to copy/paste parts of his rants into Google to see where he has stolen it from.

Logo incorporating three letters. But the one on the loaf wrapper is not a copy of that logo. Anyway the bakery is around since 1920, so they could claim to have the right to use the three letters.
