    Hi guys

I'm looking for a smartwatch for my mother, but it needs to have a largish mechanism also

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

I don't think there are many hybrid such as you describe? Tissot or Tag perhaps?

The lcd screens on smartwatches do a pretty good imitation of mechanical hands in different styles.

Nah she doesn't want anything too expensive, there's a garmin with the specification but she admits it's too expensive and too feature packed. I might just buy it for her anyway!

Some of the Casio G Shocks have hands and Bluetooth connectivity and count steps, does that qualify them as smartwatches?

Am I correct in that you are after a watch, with actual hands along with an activity tracking and alert function?

    Or is it something more?

Yep hands and the usual smartwatch functions!

I think your fairly limited in your options TBH.

Withings, Misfit, Zetime or Garmin move are what spring to mind.

Decent overview of what's current here.

Might just go with a Garmin, overkill for what it'd be used for but it fits the bill
