The problem is that media usually use the nearest Garda station when reporting on incidents.

Gulliver's is probably a 20 minute walk from Ballymun

Likewise any crime in the Dublin 5 area is labelled as Coolock because that's the main Garda station even though the incident could be miles from Coolock village

She's exaggerating a bit, it's right beside Ballymun.

I agree with her a bit.

You can't put a load of families into an area and give them no facilities.

The IFSC is somewhere I have firsthand experience.

So shes a do gooder who blames councils, landlords, families etc rather than these thugs - its not their fault according to this wan. Get her off!

Back in the day, the government didn't need to replace or take over the family structure.

Exactly and his father was an accountant in An Post, but it is not what Bono likes to say.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?

My sympathy for the gardai has never been so low. My recent dealings with them, and the visible lack of them on the streets.

The flats were grand, all they needed was a lick of the paint.

It was never the flats it was the people in them

with the size of them they would be worth some money if they were private today

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,933 ✭✭✭Deeec

How about personal responsibility Mary - you cant blame the council for all the problems.

I had occasion to vist the Ballymun Towers a few times & my word they were Grim. I'd wager the lifts were in fact cleaner than some of the flats.

Did Syl Fox ever return after all the unpleasantness?

  • I worked in these areas for decades, I am sick of apologists, absolutely sick of them. There are fantastic people in these places, and they have no time for their thuggish neighbours. I’ve worked in Ballyfermot, Coolock, Ringsend, Finglas, Crumlin, and in Dolphin’s Barn for over a decade.
