Has Brendan heard that documentary on the radio lately.

What's all the fuss about it being live? That sh1te was on stage for years.

Jeez, I drifted off a cliff in boredom there.

Nothing like overhearing an auld natter between two auld cronies.

That crap live on BBC 1?

Jaysus, he gets extraordinary support from the BBC.

Knowing where O'Carroll normally gets his "jokes" from, no doubt ie's avidly going through re-runs of this for material

The expats over there love him-it's inexplicable.

Pure junket for him and his brood, can't blame him for taking advantage really.

Joe's easy, no fuss attitude to depression...clown

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,746 ✭✭✭Pelvis Parsley

Joe will mix the cement himself, so to speak.

The BBC love it cos they love to laugh at the idiot Irish...

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,011 ✭✭✭Expunge

That's how it appears. The last acceptable form of racism on TV in the Yew Kay.

  • Registered Users Posts: 55,715 ✭✭✭✭walshb

But it's that bad even the idiot Irish angle doesn't cut it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,228 ✭✭✭TomSweeney

I agree appalling stuff, I tried watching it one christmas after someone telling me to give it a try, just unfunny lowest common denominator muck - I often wonder did Ricky Gervais base the idea of "When the whistle blows" on that.

No scratch that, "When the whistle blows" is top quality comedy compared the Mrs Browns Boy's shyte!

I didn't actually hear the show today myself but it was an absolute disgrace Joe!

I suspect that O'Carroll will be hoisted by his own petard, so to speak, eventually. He's a creep.

Imagine your job being to edit out the noises of Joe Duffy belching at a caller before uploading liveline to the rte website. I suppose the outrageous wages and lack of hard work makes up for it a bit but when that guy is alone with his own thoughts reflecting on his life I'm sure it has to eat away at his soul - My job is to edit out Joe Duffys burps.

Listening back now, the first caller just didn't seem to have a point other than the auction should have chosen her lower offer just because.

Bonus early F bomb from Whackerette too.

Shame to hear about Chapters, the owner cane across really well as a genuine business owner and good man.

Once I felt O'Carroll was coming near the microphone though, I was out.

Joe looks absolutely pained here. Probably disgusted he only got a grand cash for the personal appearance. And no food.

It looks like the other fella reaching for Joe's wallet so to speak 🤔

  • Very sad news, our friend Sligojoek has died.

Along with fellow Boardsies, who learned of the death of our friend this morning, I am saddened by the news. We had been hoping that he would be able to make something of a gradual recovery from his unexpected illness which happened a few weeks ago, but complications set it.

He leaves behind his wife and young adult children who are on the cusp of their careers, and his wider family and circle of friends.

His illness came swiftly and without warning and rendered him immediately unconscious. He underwent surgery and once he regained a level of consciousness he was booked in for future serious rehabilitation to regain as much of his life as possible. He might even have rejoined us posting on Boards again. Sadly this is not to be.

May he rest in peace. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

    1 more light l park.

stayed, were there signs, I ignored?

Can I help you, not to hurt, anymore?

We saw brilliance, when the world, was asleep

There are things that we can have, but can't keep

    If they say

Who cares if one more light goes out?

In a sky of a million stars

    It flickers, flickers

Who cares when someone's time runs out?

If a moment is all we are

    We're quicker, quicker

Who cares if one more light goes out?

    Well I do

The reminders pull the floor from your feet

In the kitchen, one more chair than you need oh

And you're angry, and you should be, it's not fair

Just 'cause you can't see it, doesn't mean it, isn't there

    If they say

Who cares if one more light goes out?

In a sky of a million stars

    It flickers, flickers

Who cares when someone's time runs out?

If a moment is all we are

    We're quicker, quicker

Who cares if one more light goes out?

    Well I do

Who cares if one more light goes out?

In a sky of a million stars

    It flickers, flickers

Who cares when someone's time runs out?

If a moment is all we are

    We're quicker, quicker

Who cares if one more light goes out?

    Well I do

    Well I do
