    Hi Everyone,

So we have recently gone sale agreed on a new build in Mungret gate. We had asked the builder for estimated measurements for the rooms as we would like to start ordering furniture, etc however they have advised that we cant have any sort of measurements until 1 month before the move in date. I am just wondering if this is normal for a new build? Most of the houses in the estate are completed and being lived in at the moment which we thought might make them less reluctant to give out the information.

It is odd, aren't they building to a specific plan/drawing? The person who conducted the sale, assuming an estate agent, if bought off plans will surely have those details. Isn't it Sherry Fitzgerald?

Worst case scenario, maybe somebody knows somebody who will let you measure their house? I say this because my house wasn't even built years ago but I wanted estimates on painting so a house, completed in phase 1, allowed a painter estimate based on their house.

This might be a stupid question, but did you not buy the house based on a set of plans?

Yes I can understand not giving exact measurements as things might be off slightly when completed but some guidance surely.

Yes we bought off plans but the measurements are not included in the plans you get just the m2. This seems to be common as we viewed a number of new builds in Limerick and it was the same.
