What's eating my plant

Every time it grows a new floor stem it gets eaten and falls over ,the thing is ,the leaves are not touched, no plants around it are affected ,I think its a lobelia Ignore the typo

Sorry I can't make anything of that pic. Can you take another one showing the plant as it is growing 9or not growing) Using a very white sheet behind it will make the plant too dark to see.

Thanks folks ,turned out to be slugs ,I was just surprised the leaved were not touched
