New fuse box and tails upgrade.

Hi, I plan on getting an electric charger and was told I needed a tails upgrade and a new fuse box before they could install it. What level of work is needed to complete this and how much would it cost. The fuse box is around 45 years old. Any help would be appreciated.

If the fuse box is 45 years old then the installation is 45 years old. It’s time for a Rewire. If a new fuse board and tails(including earthing/equipotential bonding) are installed then the installation has to be certified in order to get esbn to connect to the meter. It’s unlikely to pass the testing and certification process due to its age.

How much should I be looking at for a complete rewiring. Standard 3 bedroom semi-detached house.
