Faulty HKC Panel after 26 months

Hi all,

Long story short, I had a HKC alarm system installed 26 months ago and the main panel has gone faulty (diagnosed by the registered installer whom originally installed it).

He says I need a new main panel, is this a common fault with these systems? Should I have to pay for it myself since I barely got 2 years use from it?

Just that it was faulty. Didn't go into much detail.

He said that he rebooted the panel and that it lost all its setting and that he "didn't trust it".

The issues started yesterday when I went to disarm the alarm, put in the correct code and it set off the internal bell and couldn't shut it off. The control panel would accept the code and arm/disarm the alarm but the internal bell wouldnt go off

I found it hard to believe what your man is telling you. For a panel of only 2 years old you should have no issues.

Hope you got your intruder panel sorted ? I wouldn't get an upgrade until you get a second opinion.

Hi David and sorry for not getting back to you, the installer said he would change the panel and isn't charging anything for it, it's scheduled for tomorrow so no harm, no foul IMO.
