I'd say Culhane will start ahead of McNabney but in terms of long term prospects, McNabney might turn out the better of the two. Playing a year up will be good experience for him.

My bad! Morrissey was listed at 98 kgs last year. Still fairly light.

    Will the matches be streamed?

Could have a BR - McNabney, Crothers, Culhane

or Moloney at 6? Anyone know what type of plyer he is?

  • Registered Users Posts: 882 ✭✭✭Lsdrugbyfan

Moloney is a Ruddock type 6.

McNabey can play 6 but his best position is 8.

wouldnt surprise me to see McNabey start at 6, if you want more ball carrying.

O'Sullivan is a pure 7, same with Crothers.

Was going to say isn't McNabney U19 so any involvement is impressive. He looks some specimen anyway.

Yeah, I was thinking about this, Ulster have produced loads of backs in recent years, but no province can afford more than 1 or 2 fallow years, so hopefully there a few coming through at 18s and 19s.

I'm sure Postlewaite would be in the squad and assume he is injured. To be honest I'd have almost expected him to have potentially feature for Ulster at the moment given the absences.

I assume this Hawkshaw is related to David Hawkshaw?

Dylan Murphy training with the squad this week.

Ben Carson playing for Banbridge on Saturday, left out of squad or can we expect him to join up at any stage

  • Registered Users Posts: 308 ✭✭RuPi

Expect him to join up, would say once fit Postlethwaite will join up as well.

BBC Sports blurb stating that U20s 6n is available via BBC i-player, BBC Sports website and mobile app. Does this mean those in ROI cannot legally access these games apart from Irish matches on RTE?

Irish u20 side will be named today apparently.

Thought Moloney would have been picked in squad. So 1 Connacht, 1 IQ, 4 Munster, 6 Ulster and 11 Leinster

Looking forward to seeing Chay Mullins play. It's not often you see a 2'6 winger clocking in at 32 stones.

I think there is an u20 6 nations YouTube channel, that shows all the games. Maybe check that out.

I presume they all (31 squad) get a run out at some stage over the course of 5 games? Is that how is usually go’s ?

The profiles are uploaded, most of them and some of the lads are fairly big.

Morrissey is still listed at 98 kg's. That's fairly light.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,146 ✭✭✭Lost Ormond

And its not an issue. He's playing 20s and far better to pick the better players than pick bigger players. He can ideally put on size in time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,182 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Fionn Gibbons is a player I'd like to have a look at. He's a 6'4 15 stone centre. He's a different shape to most centres that have come through recently.

Hopefully he has the skills ala Osborne to make an impact.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,605 ✭✭✭Dubinusa

I agree! He's experienced and obviously rated. I was just pointing out his size.

  • Registered Users Posts: 882 ✭✭✭Lsdrugbyfan

his profile hasnt been updated, so its the same stats as last summer.

This is from the Babbling brook website so cant take the credit:

    LH Prop

    Jack Boyle (19/St. Michaels/UCD) - 6'1, 106kg*

    Oisín Michel (U20/Cill Dara RFC/Lansdowne) -

    TH Prop

    Rory McGuire (19/Blackrock College/UCD) - 6'4, 118kg

    Lock

    Mark Morrissey (20/Blackrock College/UCD) - 6'5, 98kg*

    Conor O'Tighearnaigh (U20/St Michael’s College/UCD)

    Backrow

    James Culhane (U20/Blackrock/UCD) - 6'4, 107kg

    Outhalf

    Charlie Tector (19/Kilkenny/Lansdowne)

    Centre

    Fionn Gibbons (19/Castleknock/UCD) - 6'4, 100kg

    Ben Brownlee (19/Blackrock/UCD) - 6'2, 96kg

    Daniel Hawkshaw (19/Belvedere/Clontarf) - 6'3, 90kg

    Back Three

    Aitzol King (19/Balbriggan RFC-CUS/Clontarf) - 6'3, 97kg

    Shane Mallon (19/Longford RFC-Roscrea/UCD) - 6'0, 93kg

    Dylan O’Grady (U20/Belvedere/UCD)

Couple of big men in there especially at the backs where we traditionally don't produce as much of the big rangy athletic forwards like Stockdale, hopefully a few make it to senior level.

Rory Maguire must be some unit, what a prospect.

Delighted to see Tony Butler make the bench some going for a Harty Cup winner with St Flannans College
