Hi Folks, I’m interested in purchasing 20 acres of 25 year old Ash/Oak forest. Any advise on who I could engage to put an independent valuation on it? It’s in the Limerick/Clare/Tipp area? Thanks.

Hi IT,
Here's the Teagasc list of Registered Foresters. There should be someone in your area that is available to give a qualified appraisal. Depending the level of detail required, your looking a €200.00 to €400.00 or so. We purchased a similar aged plantation in 2013 (although largely Sitka) and the forester's appraisal was invaluable in negotiating a reasonable price. Good luck!
