Yeah so I was on the right track anyway. I don’t think it’s adhered to much either. Its like buying second hand tyres, sometimes I am given a VAT invoice as if they are new tyres, whereas technically I should be given an invoice showing no VAT and clearly stating that VAT cannot be claimed

I handled a random revenue audit in 2014 on behalf of my employer, we provide a mix of labour and materials to our customers and charge everything at 13.5%, we probably did more labour than sale of materials but the auditor said she didn't really care once we were charging and paying over the VAT.

I was a bit worried about that before the audit but seems to be fine. Don't think it's on the radar even today.

They got us on some petty cash stuff though, I suppose they have to find something! The penalty wouldn't have even covered the auditors time there.

Just renewed my drivers licence. It's great they brought out this online way. Only took a couple of minutes. My last renewal I had to go to one of the NDLS places.

Oh great, didn't know that. Also went to NDLS for last one. Think I'm due a renewal next year

Just a heads up. You need a MyGov account to apply online to renew your licence. So worth your while setting that up now if you do not have an account so you will be all set for renewal next year.

Is your licence just for cars, or for HGV as well?

    Mouse / Rat problems ..

Friend of mine with a Hilux, had massive damage done to the wiring in the car by rodents. Other day, after my car had been idle for several days, I upped the bonnet to check a few things, and there on the plastics covering the engine, and on the wiring near the bonnet hinge on the valance, I found mouse droppings, not a lot, but definitely mouse droppings (I assume mouse, because they were only small droppings) Anyone know of a deterrence for these pests? I've checked it daily now for the last 10 days or so, and no more droppings were found.
