Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi - looks like we need a new alternator for our Avensis. 2010 estate diesel. AA guy verified it's not working, also mentioned that they are a nightmare to get at. So what sort of cost for parts & labour should I expect from a non-Dealer?

Expensive to buy from a main dealer & rare to get secondhand. I bought a new one from ebay (200) & had it fitted for 250 at non main garage. It's worked perfect ever since. It's a known weak point on that model. Main dealer price was around 650 at the time. I can also confirm it is an awkward job to do.

Thanks @BronsonTB - ended up paying about 450 from a local guy, first time I've used him. Top bloke.
