Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

New car in display, battery question

    Hi,

I have seen a very nice car that I want in a VW shop display and put a deposit on it.

I have noticed that the battery is connected to the mains via a battery charger or similar as obviouly the car does not run.

Is that an issue? Do I need to ask for a battery replacement before I buy the car?

    Thanks

This is completely normal. Honestly it is very nice touch to maintain the battery voltages. Otherwise that battery can be flat within 1-2 weeks and customer (you) get a disintegrated battery. Only they should tell it to customer on their webpage how they maintain the cars before purchase (battery voltage maintainers, protective film, cleaning etc). If you buy that car, please do not scare to charge the battery full by charger. I know, most of the people suggest to you to drive long distance. It is never comparable by battery charger. Alternator never charges the battery 100% full, but battery charger have that luxury to charge it full over the night. It is good practice to charge the battery by charger at least 2 times every year. Almost nobody does not care about that. They drive until it drives and then blame how bad is everything. The warranty may not cover the batteries what was not used properly.
