Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When I was in town, I noticed that a lot of the youngsters who are in secondary school wear long skirts as part of their school uniform.

Ankle length or so, this seemed to be the uniform for a selection of schools are there blouses/jumpers were different, has this always been the uniform for youngsters in Limerick?

Or has this come about recently? if so, what was the reason for the change?

As someone who was called old fashioned for wearing the regulation length skirt, I find one this long an interesting concept.

It's been that way in Limerick for almost 20 years that I know of. It's not officially the uniform length but just about all the girls wear them that length. It was the furthest possible from the short short skirts for the teenage discos (pre Covid). If a girl wanted to wear a knee length I've not seen a school deny that right but it's rare for a girl to want to stand out at that age. I prefer it tbh to the very short uniform skirts I've seen in Cork or Ennis.

was like that 30 years ago anyway.

remember playing Cork schools below in Cork as a teenager with the horomones running rampant and getting distracted by the lenght of the skirts.

Yeah, I never knew it as Limerick thing till a lad I worked with from Dublin asked me about it. I remember a friend of mine getting suspended for cutting her skirt to above the knee in the early 90's.
