Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Woo hoo!

First up , huge thanks to Myksyk for your unwavering support of POTW, even in the face of the new platform trying to blow everything up. And thanks to everyone else who contributes and votes. It’s a great thread.

The swift was shot in the park beside the playground in Kilronan, Inis Mór (Aran Islands). I’d been trying to get some sand martins the week before, but it just wasn’t working out, and when I saw the swifts I didn’t have much hope but thought I’d try anyway. I soon discovered that even though they were flying very fast, they did so in a fairly predictable pattern. So I picked my position and just kept following them and shooting. I was lucky too that they were swooping low, so I could use the grass as a background. I spent nearly an hour shooting them. Got lucky with this one that s/he turned to look at me.
