Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This was a lucky shot indeed!

Taken along the Dodder in Milltown. The bare branch had been washed downriver during the heavy rains and I spotted the kingfisher perched on it.

I slowly raised the camera( as I know how easily spooked they are ) and just as I 'clicked' the bird took off!

Purely by chance I had the shutter speed set at 1/1000 sec( and VC on) - so it just about caught the moment.

Nikon D800 with Tamron 150-600mm fully extended( on monopod)- ISO 500 and F8.

Thanks again to Myksyk and all who voted.
