Appealing a Protection Order

    Hi,

    Has anyone been through this process and can offer any advice.

    My ex partner was granted an interim protection order against me and I’ve been summonsed for a hearing in relation to him applying for a full safety order.

    The order was granted without my knowledge of him requesting it (as is irish law) but the statement he provided is complete fabrication and I have actual evidence to dispute every accusation.

    My question really is, has anyone been through this. I am waiting on legal aid to (hopefully) accept my application as due to covid and a reduction in pay I think I would now qualify for this as I previously didn’t.

    I intend to apply to the court that granted the order to get it discharged (either with a solicitor from legal aid or by self representation if needs be)

    Can anyone tell me how long might I be waiting for a date to have my application heard or is it a case that the hearing for full safety order (date in January 22) will come round first.
