Connector type

Can someone tell me what type of connectors these are? Do you solder the wire into the channel or do you crimp? I can't find a mate connector for it.

Seems to be a crimp type so I'll be sending ti back as the wire diameter I'm working with is not compatible.

That's a solder cup terminal.

There should then be a cover which you pull the wire through, solder the terminals, and then screw the cover to the black thread.

What type of connection is on the back side of this?

Pins on opposite side - other half has the sockets as well as these solder cups. Doesn't have a protective cap on the one end plus either solder or crimp, the cup is too small for the wire being used.

If the solder cup is too small for the wire gauge, then the connector is too small for the power requirement.

(I realise of course that the wire could be oversized, and I don't know the application, but good practice to have it all up to the same level in case the same wire is ever used to power something else in future)

Do you have a part number or any more pictures of this connector? Is is possible to swap both sides of the connector for something else? I'd recommend changing it is the protection is missing.

The connector is rated for 13A. Wire is 2mm rated to 25A - I think it would work okay, I just don't like that type of connection for frequent connection/disconnection.

I would prefer to use one of these, but there are no end caps to protect the pins from corrosion when disconnected:

Ah I understand. On the dear side. But you could buy a second plug for when it's disconnected.

I have a similar setup with outdoor lighting. The cable is 240V UK plug - female circular 3pin - male circular 3 pin - lighting.

Renting so can't put in anything permanent electric wise, so I've just added another wiring clip under the window reveal, which I put the male (outdoor) connector into to keep it dry when not in use.

A friend has a similar setup and just uses a little plastic lunchbox with a hole cut for the cable to keep it dry. Bluetac can work too if it's rarely used.

It's for working lights on a farm machine. Don't want to have the cable permanently attached so I will have to think of something to sort it. Will send it back and then maybe buy the other one and hope I can find something that screw into it to protect the pins.
