Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Has anybody bought a bank draft recently?

I need a bank draft for €175 and it’s turning into a farce. My bank, BOI, only does them for €500 upwards. It appears that other banks require you to be a customer. I’m just wondering if anybody has experienced this and is there a way around it, apparently postal order isn’t acceptable in this case, only bank draft.

    Any thoughts gratefully received.

What's wrong with an electronic transfer?

They have previously posted that they will make an exception for the naturalisation fee.

I did a few months ago. With the Bank of Ireland, having to go into the The Quay is just painful these days in general. It is so bad it is hard to believe. I am not even exaggerating the last time I was in there, old people were having to sit down and people letting them go ahead of them in the queue because they looked like they were going to faint, it was literally that bad.

Just another example of how the banks do not want to see customers in their premises!

They cited a 60% drop in business coming through the door as a reason for shutting all the branches last week - yet they caused that by forcing customers to use online banking and having very limited counter service!

I am not a customer of BOI but AIB and when I went into the branch they had a staff member outside directing customers to use the machines!

    Beggars belief really!

fairly understandable really, we ve been leaving them walk all over us for decades now, they only truly want our deposits and our need for loans, but nothing else, the sector has become a joint parasite!
