Sorry for the ingorance lads technology isn't my best friend. I've an old laptop but I'm not in a position to replace it right now. I never heard of a cmos battery before but my screen hasn't been coming on recently and after some digging I think it's this battery that's on the way out. I was just wondering how easy/expensive these are to replace.

Easiest thing go to youtube, type in your model number and look for a disassembly video, watch it and see if your comfortable getting to the point where the CMOS on the motherboard is exposed. Cost? Couple euro for a button battery.

Older laptops are far easier to disassemble than newer.
