Do you think it will be more expensive to tear an extension down and bring house back to the original house. And put a smaller extension out the back to where the kitchen originally was.

Its an old house, the main bathroom is located down stairs beside the kitchen. Which would be situated at the rear of the house

The extension is at the front of the house. It looks absolutely awful its an extended kitchen literally looks like it it stuck on the front of the house.

With no shape or style doesn't make sense.

Whats your Thoughts.. should I fix the extension up or knock it down

Depends on size and condition of the extension

Often extensions build onto houses decade's we're done poorly.

Considering you don't like the look of it, you're likely better off looking at doing something out the back and bring back the original look of the house at the front rather than sink money into an old poorly built extension that doesn't look well with the house

What kind of date of building would be on the extension? When did you buy the house? It may be that if you were trying to sell the house in the future you might have to go looking for retention of it and everything depends on when it happened.

Having said that, if its as ugly and out of place as you suggest, and you can afford to do it then certainly take it down and rebuild at the back. Which you probably would need Planning for, unless you are very sure it would be exempt. You might be wise to get an opinion from an engineer.
