Remote access app for x96 mini

I bought this

For my father in law, but he has difficulty using it as he's in no way tech savvy, I tried downloading remote access apps so I could access it through my phone whenever he wanted something put on, while I was able to get one app to move the cursor around the screen, I couldn't get it to actively control the box, does anyone know if this is just that box is unable to be used in this way, or if there's an app that will work?,

Have QuickSupport on Samsung phone - works(most of time) , but require Android party to confirm "allow remote support" . Risky to users who have no idea what they are allowing, but if they able to read they can recognize you by your ID or name

Have a look at TeamViewer Host if unattended access needed - i didnt use it, cant comment. It look like require subscription on your side $$$$
