Looking at all in one printer for home and seen brother brand that has fax capabilities

I know old school but if WFH going to be continuous for a while be good option as both I and Miss Gunner employers use it

We have virgin bb and phone connected at line in back of TV.

Is it possible to fax over wifi or would we have to connect it to line in

If not what are our options

Fax technology uses audio over a phone line. A fax machine must be connected directly to a phone line, so that it can place and receive phone calls. This technology will not work over WiFi or Internet. It will work if connected to your phone line, even if that phone line is provided by Virgin. There used to be companies that would provide Fax-as-a-service, usually using VoIP technology.

However, the question at hand would be this: why do you still need a fax service in this day and age? You can take photos with a smartphone that have much better quality than any of the fax machines, and send them through a variety of services, from email to social networks.

There are fax options over internet. Most are subscription based though. Our voip carrier has a fax which is used through email to a fax machine. Works perfectly.

believe it or not (to the poster above) some companies still operate a fax along with other older forms of communication. It’s weird in this day and age, it does make you read it when it arrives in the fax machine though (it’s such a rare event)

Yeah some people don't even know what a fax is (・o・)

Yeah it's antiquated and yet still in use

We have an office with PC so if we did want option of fax then we would need virgin to install one there, that correct

Not sure if worth the hassle. What options are email to fax take it all paid options

There is a service called Hellofax which I have previously used sucessfully.

There is a basic free plan which is good for a limited number of pages (5?) but it might be worth a look?
