Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Searle not at the races here

Ffs will someone tell him to clean up his appearance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 717 ✭✭✭charlesanto

Anderson at sixes is surely the bet, if you care to gamble.

Looks far better than Krusty... Gwan Searle - 'e's showing glimpses 'ere....

In fairness it's nothing compared to the state of Wrights hair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

I’ve rarely seen Searle average over 92.

If a top player plays half decent they beat him.

Having him as short as 16s to be World Champion was mental.

    lets ave a partyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

whats it with you guys and hair on here, who gives a fook about players hair.

    Well that was fairly disappointing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,029 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Must have been some snoozefest if the hair is the main topic of discussion 🤣

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,932 ✭✭✭Sultan of Bling

Easy win for snakebite but guess what, he had 3 more trebleless visits than Searle 😁

Wright's slow throwing and pondering which big single he'll go far, after he hits a treble, is just as much gamesmanship than any of Price's antics... just more subtle though... Really hope Rydz can beat him..

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

Are you for real? It's big trebles they count not any treble. Dear god.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,882 ✭✭✭sc86

Anderson at 16 to 1 yesterday was the bet with value.

Crazy with record he has at the worlds

Neither will 6 of the other 8 that are left , unless you hammer the short odds fav then you want decent price long shot

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,932 ✭✭✭Sultan of Bling

    Alright alright calm down.

None of us know anything until we're first told.

Agree. Same as last year, has one reasonably good peformance in him (last year vs Chizzy, this year v Cross) but hard to see him going all the way

Complete flop in the final last year

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,104 ✭✭✭rolling boh

have not seen that much of the darts but have gary anderson play great and some terrible basic stuff during matches he must have been better the two times he won it i suppose but alsowould be wary having a decent bet on him .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,580 ✭✭✭bassy

Cross was poor and pushed him to a 7 setter, says enough.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Cross played really well from 3-1 down. Anderson played excellent and can definitely win it.

Between the top four in the betting in my opinion and it could be any of them depending on who plays best on the day.

I’d take Anderson and Smith against the field personally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,866 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

Can't wait for Smith v Price.

Smith has looked excellent so far but we've seen this before from him.

Price has been solid and will presumably up his game for this.

Crowd will be massively in favour of Smith which could make a difference, but I still fancy Price to go through.

    Smith

    Wade

    Rydz

    Humphries

Now wouldn't that be a good SF lineup

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,580 ✭✭✭bassy

fook wade hes a dull boring c*nt to watch, not much better as a person.one of the most unlikeable dart players.

I think Wade wins handy, he looks so relaxed and in a good place. King is capable of a couple of good sets but he has some horrible ones as well and you are not beating Wade unless you are always on.

Gotta say I fancy Humphreys to beat Anderson. He is playing high class darts and he came through a real battle and showed real toughness to get over the line.

Smith Vs Price is a great one. I couldn't call it.

Wright looks great and maybe his experience sees him through against Ridz. Ridz is a future champion I think, I love his attitude. He's got a real killer look about him. I certainly wouldn't rule him out either as he's saying great darts too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

King has beaten Wade in 9 out their last 10 matches. That's pretty significant.

And Wadey splits 38 with 3 in hand, to leave d10. and take it out to take opener against darts..

Onya Wadey!.. The 'non-percentage' play paid off 😃

Wadey with the ton 80s - 4 of them so far!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Poor standard but James Wade doing James Wade things when he needs to.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

This commentator is extremely annoying. What are you shouting for!!

Webster's grand, but the other lad it's like every throw is to win a set or the match 😩

Must be close to the worst PDC Worlds quarter final of all time.

Wade is in a semi final after averaging 83, 93 and 85 only dropping one set.

Merv was "People's favourite" - "Bookmaker's favourite" 😂 - you was 4/9 James - not even the 1/2 shown on oddschecker were available in shops before match.. #Ladcrooks 😒

    Mon Luke!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,116 ✭✭✭bazermc

just in the door. Wow 4 nil to Wade

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

Two beautiful throwing actions. Would love to see Humphries win this.

Luke showing good composure in this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Being played at a great pace.

    Very tight at the moment.

Anderson pulling out big shots when he needs to.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

John Part "we are in England afterall, of course they're going to support Luke"

Most sense spoken about the crowd all tournament.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

5-2 score line doesn’t do the game justice.

    16-15 Anderson in legs.

He did the right things at the right times. Lot of final leg deciders and big finishes showed his experience.

That's it - he seemed to throw allthe key darts at all the crucial times

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,882 ✭✭✭sc86

Do people still not think 16 to 1 was a good price for anderson?

Always gets to at least a 1/4 final

    So consistant over the years.

I still would be surprised if he wins , youd expect price / smith to win it out.

James wade must be thank his lucky stars with route he has had so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 823 ✭✭✭Coneygree

If I knew he'd change his darts, then yes. Night and day difference since he did.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,882 ✭✭✭sc86

The lowest rank player to knock anderson out of the pdc worlds is 13 and that was barney.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,037 ✭✭✭Cosmo Kramer

Worst quarter final (or later) average since Nicolson v Wade in 2009. Wade won that one with an 81.75 average.

Those kind of winning averages were common in the early days of the PDC though. There wasn't much talent outside of Taylor for a long time and the BDO regularly had higher tournament averages up until the mid 2000s.

Still, worst winning average in 13 years is saying something, there have been some good individual matches but the standard hasn't been great overall this year.

Wade's solid, but low averages. Good checking out, but he could be blitzed by a higher scoring opponent. Will have a look at his semi final counterpart (not sure who it is - think it's the winner of Wright/Rydz 😋), and likely chance him -2.5 sets..

Really hope Rydz beats Wrighty, and don't mind who wins the other match, which should be a cracker. Will hope the real Michael Smith turns up, and makes a game of it v Price.

I’ll be surprised if Rydz can keep pace with Wright over this many sets.

Hopefully he keeps playing the way he has and makes a game of it.

I have a feeling Smith might blow Price away tonight. Gerwyn hasn’t been playing great and Smith seems to be in a different headspace this tournament.

Rydz should enter the youth's next year just for the laugh - assuming his being a professional isn't a reason for not being allowed to participate... He's only 23 - think 24 is the upper age limit..

Some opener from Callan there!! 😁

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,629 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

Rydz is a breath of fresh air, great to watch.

Be class if he won the whole thing!

Didn’t take the commentators long to break out the ‘these young players have no fear these days’ clichè

    Holy crap , that's unreal

    Turbo scoring and unreal checkouts
