Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pity Rydz lost... He played savage. Rather Anderson in a final than Peter Wright. He plays a proper game - just like Rydz, Smith and Gezzy,,,

    Mon Bully Boy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Swaine

Some performance from Wright. Dug in and found a way to win. True champion.

Rydz gutted but should be proud, sensational tournament. He should be in the Premier League for me. He's TV gold.

    Amazing game.

If that young lad plays like this every tournament he has some future ahead of him.

Wright needed every bit of his experience and high scoring there.

Gezzy is going to be boo’d out of the building going for doubles if that last game is anything to go by. Hope they follow up on their threat of booting out the knobheads.

I miss the days of refs calling best of order.. its a **** show. No **** respect when the match went to the very end.

Hope the bully keeps his bottle this time out.

Have a feeling the crowd will be turned off

    Epic arrows.

    Wright is granite.

Have to agree on the crowd. They were always a-holes but this year seem to be bigger a-holes than ever.

They normally interview the pdc chairman after the final. I wonder will sky bring it up in the interview.

    It's getting out of hand.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,932 ✭✭✭Sultan of Bling

He should be but I've a feeling he will be overlooked for a certain blonde.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,951 ✭✭✭The Big Easy

Also it's the only possible way to have three darts at a double in that situation, like when Wright took out double 9 after missing with the first two

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,951 ✭✭✭The Big Easy

Do you think they've stopped testing the players every day? No positives since Chizzy when it looked like another would really be the death knell of the tournament.

Funny, myself and a mate were saying the exact same thing today.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,028 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

Smiths throw looks so natural as if it's no effort

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,866 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

Crowd seem suprisingly well-behaved so far, although I wouldn't be surprised if the mics have been switched off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,830 ✭✭✭hawkwing

The break after set 2 is ridiculous, especially when it is won in 3 legs. They were barely back out and gone again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 578 ✭✭✭maximus15

The crowd most if the tournament have been bias towards one nationality in particular so expect them to crank up booing towards latter stages if Smith still in it .

  • Registered Users Posts: 345 ✭✭orecir

One of the best tournaments in many a year even with the awful crowds.

Would love to see James Wade finally win the big one.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Smith let him off that set.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,710 ✭✭✭Joeseph Balls

    9 darter!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,866 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

It'll be interesting to see how Smith reacts to losing the 3rd set, it's the type of thing that could cause his head to drop

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,866 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

Nice to see Price getting a big cheer, especially with his kids in the crowd

    Looks just effortless from Smith

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Mr. Guappa

This is great stuff. Incredible how regular 9-darters have become in recent years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

This game is making the last one look pedestrian. 😂

    Savage standard all round tonight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 578 ✭✭✭maximus15

Without the darts , TV would have been dull enough this Xmas and new year! Keeps getting better .

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,438 ✭✭✭Choochtown

Smith showing great composure here. Agree with poster above. Lovely effortless throw.

"We've been nined and dined tonight" 😂

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭Officer999

Winner of the tournament comes from this game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Price is fumbling a lot of darts tonight.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,438 ✭✭✭Choochtown

    Serious standard.

Every leg has been won in 15 darts or less 😲

... except for that one 😄

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,424 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

The mutual show of respect from both players in the 4th set was just class. Prices 9 darter being applauded by Smith and then Price giving Smith the fist bump after he won the set anyway. Just class!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,280 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Gezzy is hanging on by the skin of his teeth here.

Smith is playing better and out scoring him.

Listening to Mardle and Part, and though they talk a lot of shoyt (esp Mardle) , how on earth does Turner get a look in... unfortunately she's due one - probably in one of the semis...

    Mon BB... Classic this!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,183 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

Smith down 4-3 despite been 10 180s ahead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

"One hundred and Gerwyn you require 74"

The pace these lads are throwing at, a tough gig as the caller tonight.

Smith had the only really stinker of a leg of the match there at the worst possible time.

Smith is finding a way to lose this match.

Threw that set away from 2-1 up.

He should be off into the sunset by now.

Price is granite, the Mark Selby of the darts world.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

I wouldn't want to be the one upsetting Price

Price and Smith are putting on a excellent show. With how good both of them are it's a shame this isn't a final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭tanko

Why?? like all pathetic bullies he’s a coward underneath.

    Hold your throw bully!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Smith wins it, but Price will feel like he has thrown it away.

    Another cracking match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,710 ✭✭✭Joeseph Balls

    Some game of darts!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,017 ✭✭✭Officer999

Wow thought Price had mentally broken Smith.

Great bottle to come back there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,028 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

Two fantastic games tonight and more of the same tomorrow hopefully

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,866 ✭✭✭Deeper Blue

Smith was brilliant, great effort by Price in fairness

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,295 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

I'm always amazed at how the players can recall how the legs went.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,529 ✭✭✭irishgeo

    Hope Smith wins it now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,967 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Delighted for Michael Smith. It's wide open, a totally calm and relaxed James Wade is dangerous, Gary Anderson has grown into the tournament and Wright looks class too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 970 ✭✭✭AdrianG08

I wanna see an interview with Price I'd say he will have alot to say
