EDF can't catch a break, more reactors to go offline

Power prices up 4% , next year 2023 they'll be scaling back from 340–370 terawatt hours (TWh) to 300-330 TWh. EDF have lost €15Bn in value since December.

Perhaps this will speedup the Celtic Interconnector rollout ?

"EDF said this took into account a busy programme of work on the reactors, with 44 outages for maintenance and inspection, including six 10-yearly inspections, plus 2 scheduled outages in 2022 that would continue into 2023." That's assuming everyting is tickety boo and now new issues are found.

Meanwhile EDF UK have 11 reactrors left. All are at nominal full load, apart from those refuelling or at reduced load to address a governor valve steam leak, on undergoing a graphite inspection outage or where off-load refuelling extended for a gas circulator exchange.

Perhaps this will speedup the Greenlink Interconnector rollout ?

Domestic scale LiFPO4 batteries can be had for about €1000.00 per 1KWH and will last 10years in normal use before dropping to 80% of original capacity. At that point they are still serviceable for another 10years. They are more likely to fail due to mechanical or electronic failure than actual use cycling.
