Focus and determination so good from Vafaei tonight, Selby well and truly punished for sloppy error. Just can't fathom why vafaei should be hovering down the 60s, way much better than that.

That was even better than the first 4 frames he played against Ronnie in the German. Fluked a red, but has been near flawless. Can't think of any genuine error he has made.

He’s down that low because he’s not allowed live in the UK and can’t enter a lot of tournaments. He’s easily a top 16 player IMO.

He's been based in Darlington for the past 12-18 months so I think those issues are more or less sorted. Travelling back and forth from Tehran was no good. Just needs to be more consistent and follow up these good performances and I've no doubt he'll get there.

Great match for a 6-2. Fluke to end it but overall well deserved. If Hossein hadn't won that the match he'd have nightmares over that missed red to the middle for years!

Stoked for Hossein cos he's a lovely fella as well as a proper talent. But he's got to go follow that up now against Xaio Guodong and start thinking about a big run. After beating Ronnie he went and lost to Andrew Higginson next round, that's no good.
