Qqi course and different modules

Hi All I am hoping some of you can give advice. I previously (years ago) have done a FETAC level five course. I am currently hoping to change careers and have attended a career guidance counsellor who suggested I use my full award and brush up on areas that need updating. So one of those areas would definitely be computers (excel). Our local etb has an excel course running in the new year for fifteen weeks but I feel I would be well able to do this course online myself and quicker than the 15 weeks enabling me to move onto another module.

My question is the modules like excel / word expert done via the likes of ecollege / fetch / solas do they give the same award at the end as if I was to do it through our local etb?

If any of you could advise I would be so grateful
