Moving from Echo to Sonos

Hi. We've had a couple of different Echos in our kitchen / family room over the years; now have the Echo Studio which is fantastic. We haven't automated things as much as I'd like, but this year I'm going to work on that.

Over the next 18 months I'm going to be upgrading the TV, adding a sound bar, and then potentially a sub. We already have an Apple TV which we love.

I'm upgrading the speakers on my turntable (in a separate room to the family room) and considering getting a Sonos Play 5 rather than separates; this would then lead me towards a Sonos beam for the TV and embracing multi-room sound.

Question 1: does this mean I'd have to ultimately swap out the Echo for a Sonos equivalent?

Question 2: are there other options than Sonos that I should be thinking about?
