Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I want to change my name by deedpoll, I need a witness to be with me though. All it takes for a simple change of name by deedpoll is to have the right form and a witness. My family is down the country, and I am self employed here in Dublin so have no acquaintances I can bring. Anyone willing to visit a solicitor at an arranged time for me to get this done? I'm willing to pay for a persons time. Get in touch via pm if available.

Is it just a witness to your signature, or are they witnessing that you've been using a different name for a while? If it's just an additional witness to your signature, maybe there's another staff member in the solicitor's office who can do that? Has the solicitor said you need to bring someone?

It would be just a witness to my signature. I'm thinking it has to be done by the book though.

Any mentally competent adult can be a witness. They do not have to know what the document is about, or what it says; they just have to attest that you signed the document in their presence at the place, and on the date, stated in the document.
