What to do with this small holding

We have this small holding of approx 3 acres that I have no idea to do with.

it has several types of trees plated on it and was being used to keep a mobile home on. It overlooks a lake and has nice scenic views. I’ve been told the land is “good” but I have had no involvement in it until now and not sure what to do with it.

Can anyone tell me, for example,

what type of trees are these?

why is the land so bumpy (those are mound of grass rather than the soil)

what are the trenches running through the land?

Looks like it was drained and mounded to plant the trees in the first place. Drains would be at fairly regular intervals if this is the case and the trees spaced similarly.

From the photographs I would guess that the trees could be silver birch or maybe wild cherry but it's very hard to be sure at this time of year.

What to do with it is really your own choice but maybe investigate if there are forestry premiums being paid on the plantation, that may dictate your next move.

They don't look like a plantation that premiums are paid on, if it was mine i'd cut them out of it and start again.

The trees are neither use nor ornament and would make only firewood, I'm sure you could develop it better than it is

To me they look like apple trees, but if you were through them during the year you'd know if they were apples.

BTW I'm not an expert, I even hate trees but my wife makes cider out of our apples so I'm prepared to tolerate apple trees. 😁😁

The trenches look like small drains. Whats the fencing like op?. You could run a few sheep on it with the trees still intact

Fences are in good condition but I don't think I would be in a position to manage sheep.
