Just curious do many posters have a job connected to their bike or is there much need for couriers? Would couriers be the only job connected to bikes or are there bike taxis as well or would that only be in bigger cities like London?

Are you looking for a kind of survey type answer?

ie. Does anyone on boards currently have a job that they need a motorcycle licence to carry out. (personally I don't, but was a motorcycle courier in the early 90's.

Nah, just wondering is there much work in having a motor cycle licence but not really fussed what way the discussion goes if anywhere.

I think email & Internet pretty much killed a lot of courier work.

As mentioned above there are some possibilities where specialist careers have a small cohort where bike licence could be used : paramedic for example.

Things like Garda, Army etc require you to be a Garda/DF member first. Indeed, AGS prefer to pick non-bikers for bike training and bring them up from scratch. No bad habits and all that.

    Driving/riding instructor is another possibility.

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
