Seagull 1963 - where to buy a genuine version?

I’m looking for a Seagull 1963 for a special birthday present coming up in a few months. I don’t know much about the watch, but I have been told there are a lot of takes about. I’m looking for the mechanical chronograph 42mm version.

I have 2 questions:

1. is this a decent watch?
2. where is the best place to buy?

You get what you pay door with these watches. I bought a couple from that Dutch site. One was fine and on the other the crystal fell out after a couple of months .

That said they are a great looking watch, a decent movement for the money, and I recently bought my 3rd one- the panda version.

For the extra cash, it is worth going with somewhere like Poljot24.de, as they will have better QC on what they offer. Plus you will have full retail come back. They also do servicing.

Is it risky buying directly from AliExpress? They have a Sea-Gull store.

You will probably have to pay duty, that's one risk and if it's a dud you will have to return it to China or where ever. If you're looking for security best go with the more expensive but better service from Poljot24.

I bought one in March 2020 and have no complaints! Very nice watch. Got it from the Tourbillon Watch Store for what it's worth.

It cost me 160 USD and no additional charges when it arrived - not sure if that's normal or not.
