I'm trying to get a tank shipped from Japan as they can't be got anywhere else. Its for a Yamaha SRX.

The Japanese auction sites have lots of tanks for sale but they won't ship anything overseas.

I found a proxy site( fromjapan.jp ) who will bid on your behalf but a used fuel tank is classed as a prohibited item in Japan so they can't ship it. Not even by land and sea.

I'm up against a brick wall so am hoping somebody on here has an idea on how to get one out of Japan or anywhere else for that matter .

These guys specialise in importing car parts from japan to ireland. They have shipping containers coming in regular enough. They would be worth a try as they buy off yahoo auctions etc as far as i know.

Ps. Im not affilated to them nor have i used them (yet)

I have bought plenty of motorcycle parts from Japan, incl exhausts and fuel pump,I set up an account with zenmarket,or jauce ,both are good, then look up part you want bid on it or if it's sometimes fixed price,it gets sent to the warehouse and they will ship it to you, things to look out for are fees, charges will include part you buy will usually have a charge to be sent to warehouse roughly ¥1800,then they have a handling fee typically about 500¥,and packing fee and shipping fee,pm me if you want any more info
