Unpaid for role

Hello,

I was hired for a role and I was given a larger role with more responsibility. I'm expected to do both roles. And I've had no change in pay.

During my review I'm going to ask for a salary in line with what the bigger role pays. Other companies pay approximately 50% more for that position.

I'm just trying to work out what resistance or downfalls I may encounter.

Could I expect that i may have to interview for the role? Or that they may just reject me? And try and hire an outside person instead?

How do you know you were given a more extended role. Job advertisements don't usually cover all activities or responsibilities of the position. Were you told it is a more extended role than was advertised?

The contract may be more relevant.

The role I'm covering is a very specific role that's significantly different to what I was hired for. It's also in a different department.

Well if you have two different job descriptions, then is should be a fairly easy point to present the two profiles at your review....
