Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Washing Machine leaking at the door

    HI,

My washing machine is leaking at the door. There is a little damage to the seal, in the photo. Could this be enough to be causing the leak ? If it is, Is there anything I can do to repair it instead of having to replace the whole seal ?

There is no other damage that I can find.

    Thanks

I've seen people do a quick fix by removing the seal themselves, and turning it so the damaged part of the seal is at the top of the drum.

Might get you through till you can get it replaced at least

ah, never thought of that. I had assumed it was fixed. I'll give that a look.

Reply I doubt that will work by rotating seal, the seal has a drain hole at bottom…unless you block drain hole pipe on both sides I suppose

Could you make a new hole in the new orientation?

    Not your ornery onager

A cheaper replacement seal may be available than the OEM one.

When I needed a door seal, it was €75 for an OEM seal for a Bosch machine, but €45 from a non-OEM source.

Also make sure there is nothing in the "groove" of the seal such as hairgrips, coins etc. Surprising what ends up in the machine out of pockets.
