Some really tough board pairings for the euro players expected to do well:

Board 1: Cristo Reyes, Telnekes, Jorgensen (who played really well yesterday)

Board 9: Ronny Huybrechts, Tricole, Brian Raman

    Board 13: Kcuik, Kurz, Vandenbogaerde

    Draw for UK one

not great draws for the Irish players

Gavin Carlin and Mickey Mansell up against two of the most in form players

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Impressive 6-2 win for Carlin over Lauby

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Very impressive indeed. Lauby one of the main in form guys over the 2 phases so far

Fallon Sherrock out in round 1

Fallon out in L128 again. Lost 6-5 after coming back from 5-2 down.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

I was following the game. Pressure looked like it got to both of them in those last 2 legs, too many 50/60 score visits

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Another scalp Mickey Mansell knocks out yesterday's semi finalist George Killington. Conor Henaghan and Michael Flynn both through

Mixed fortunes for the ROI lads in round 1. Convincing wins for Gavin Carlin, John O Shea, Conor Heneghan and Michael Flynn, a very good win for Mickey Mansell too against Killington who went deep yesterday. Loses though for Ciaran Teehan, Shane McGuirk and Niall Culleton - who was 3-0 up against Darren Webster but lost 6-4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Cameron Menzies, yesterdays beaten finalist out too in Rd 1

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Carlin in trouble now, Kai Leung is hitting some serious scores against him

  • Registered Users Posts: 392 ✭✭passinginterest

Luck of the draw so important. Of the 31 point scores in the EU qualifiers at least 14 were knocked out first round today (didn’t quite get a final count so might have been a couple more). That included all 4 beaten quarter finalists.

In the UK side 13 of the 31 point scores are gone first round including the beaten finalist a semi finalist and two quarter finalists.

If it’s similar to last year 6 points is certain qualification with a few of the top 5 pointers possibly getting through. So even a final is no guarantee if you don’t get at least one more last 32.

Kai Leung played great darts in last years Q school, wonder what happened him during the year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Carlin out to a 104 average.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Another big win for John O Shea

    Conor Heneghan wins also.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Ritchie Burnett probably just needs one more OOM point and he should be safe for a tour card

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

I agree, it's a strange one. He was excellent in Q-School but couldn't replicate that form on the tour at all. Didn't have any good runs in Pro Tour events. He's obviously capable of doing well though.

Richie Burnett picking up points again today, he's looking good to reclaim a tour card.

Mickey Mansell beats Matthew Edgar 6-2, averaging 105

Edgar was confident of getting a card before the tournament, pressure's on now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

John O Shea through to last 16. Michael Flynn is out though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Conor Heneghan joins him with an impressive 6-2 win

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Waites and Burnett having another good game. Waites currently averaging 107

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

After missing 15 match darts yesterday Mickey Mansell let slip a 5-1 lead just now before finally winning 6-5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Darren Webster going well today - like to see him regain his card - up against it in his current game against Mike Warburton, quality darts from both

12 of last 16 uk had no points yesterday. 5 of the last 8 in the EU the same. Standard is so high, it’s going to be very, very tight for the order of merit places. There’s a few who still haven’t got points that will still fancy their chances of winning a day outright if they hit a patch of form.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Conor Heneghan putting up a good fight against Scott Waites. Mickey Mansell flying v Richardson but John O shea loses 6-2

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Heneghan losing last leg decider to Waites. Was waiting for tops when Waites took out 36

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

Heneghan loses 6-5. Mansell gone from 4-0 up to now 4-3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    Mansell gets the win 6-3

When he's not having his moments with doubles Mansell is probably the best scorer in Q-School.

  • Registered Users Posts: 392 ✭✭passinginterest

Mansell top of the order of merit now too. If he beats Evetts he’s all but guaranteed his card.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,595 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    6-3 win for Evetts

    Semi finals

    Waites v Clark

    Evetts v Darren Webster

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Euro final- Jules Van Dongen vs Brian Raman

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Both of those are supposed to be playing in the WDF World Championships. There will be a good few replacements needed in that tournament.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭boomdocker

Demolition job by the Demolition Man in the final, great stuff

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

UK draw up. Mixed again for the Irish lads- Heneghan, O'Shea have winnable boards

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Jelle Klaasen looks finished unless he wins it outright tomorrow

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Fallon had a good win against David Pallett, has a winnable game next against Justin Smith

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,864 ✭✭✭statto25

No sign of Conor Heneghans brother Martin this week although it was reported he was down for QSchool

John o Shea through to last 32

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Moves him into provisional OOM spot. If he ends up on 4/5 today he should be in a good position tomorrow

Wonder what happened in the Hamilton Meek game

Sherrock out in L64. 0 pts gained again

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Same story for Fallon as last year, can throw a decent first game and follow up with mediocre enough performance. Floor game just not up to scratch

Her partner Cameron Menzies is bottling it as well, final in the first day and no points today and yesterday

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Matthew Edgar out with zero points. Sitting on 32 in deciding leg and bust his score

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Looks like EdgarTV will be focusing on the Challenge Tour next year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Lisa Ashton picks up another point. Took out 13 darter against the throw in deciding set

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

Richie Burnett almost certainly has his card now. Good to see him back on the tour.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,769 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Mansell should have his tour card. Hit a 109 average against Robert Thornton
