LENOVO Legion 5 15.6" Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7, RTX 3070, 512 GB SSD

Hello all, I'm about to pull the trigger on this as I think it's the best value/quality compromise at this price point for an RTX 3070. I'm excluding Acer as they're unreliable junk in my experience. I'll be using it for personal computing and Flight Sim 2021. Reliability and longevity are important to me. Is there anything I've missed or would I be better off getting an RTX 3060 machine and pocketing the change? I can't see better value out there but if anyone can please don't be shy.

that's a good spec and solid build

won't get a lot better for the money

3070 card worth it for longevity but if you don't really need it for your games you could save 300 or 400 euro

this one with a 17 inch higher resolution 1440p screen was going for a little cheaper before but is over 1600 now

this 3060 laptop is very good value and runs the 3060 as a good TDP

it's a very capable cpu - will make very very little difference in gaming

the gpu is the most important component and the limiting factor in gaming, once the cpu is not way-underpowered.

and it's not, it's plenty powerful.

Final question Glasso; here's a Legion 5, 3060 for €1200. Is there any appreciable difference in performance for games such as Flight Sim compared to the first machine I linked? The difference is around €350 but Flight Sim is a very demanding game...

If it's a once-off that you plan using for years, get the first one. Obviously the 3070 is better, though the 3060 is also very good, but the first has 16GB of RAM as well.

It's easy upgrade RAM but again, if it's a once-off that'll last years, just get the better-rounded 3070/16GB option if it's affordable to you. No hassle, just out-of-the-box a superb machine that needs no upgrading.

The other viable option for Flight Sim is actually an Xbox Series S + Gamepass. €300 for the console and it runs FS excellently, GamePass is €9 a month or whatever and can be had for €1 a month sometimes on offer.
