CNN is gone from Sky menu but is tunable through free to air channels. Fox is gone from Sky for about 3-4 years. BBC news is there.

All the news channels with the exception of Sky News HD are free to air so no Sky subscription needed to view.

BBC News has never been on the Sky EPG in Ireland, it can be tuned in through Manual Tuning.

CNN is still on the Sky EPG (Channel 506), it is gone from a number of other platforms but Sky has escaped (only for now, I fear).

All the News channels on the Sky ROI EPG are Free-to-air and require no Sky Subscription with the exception of Sky News in HD (HD pack required) and RTE News and Oireachtas TV (both are free on Saorview)

If you are only going SKY for news then consider alternatives like Free To Air box / Linux Box / Freesat box / TV with satellite / TV with Freesat instead. eg €79 https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-204518-manhattan-sx-freesat-freesat-hd-box.aspx

If you are getting a new install consider getting multi satellite with 28/19/13 - others can advise further

Older list of news channels on 28E - some need manual tuning on SKY/ Freesat Use the names to match the updated frequency list https://en.kingofsat.net/pos-28.2E.php Check https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2056038616/new-channels#latest as there are new news channels coming soon and are right wing so less need for Fox News which is encrypted

ITV do news for both Channel 4 and Chanel 5. Same sources the only difference is how it's filtered and presented.

If you have satellite/interwebs then there are lots of other news channels most with their own biases and sacred cows but if a story is big enough they'll all cover it, from their angle. Note US news companies have cut back a lot on overseas staff in lesser countries and get second hand news and updates filtered by US government sources so not what they used to be.

Freesat/SKY on 28E also has Al Jazeera Quatar / France 24 / RT Russia / Bloomberg TV US / NHK World Japan / CNBC US / Ariang TV Korea / TRT World Turkey / GB News - some like CNN US have to be added manually

If you have Hotbird on 13E too you also get English language news from DW Germany / Euronews French / CGTN China / BBC World (rose coloured glasses filters out a lot of UK politics and has ads.) / i24News Israel

Astra 1 on 19E is mostly a mix of the above

And not forgetting RTE news when they aren't on holidays over Christmas. They also do TG4 news.

If you already have a dish set up on the property from a previous installation and have a modern tv, you can simply hook it up and get them all for free now.

Fox News is gone from Sky a long time - nearly five years - they kept falling foul of the U.K. regulatory authorities and handed back their license before they lost it.
