Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not been on for a long time but surely a race of this nature deserves some chat.

It's still a bit early to know for sure but it does look like it's on and I can't wait to see it. PT is over for one mount at Lingfield on Friday and the bookies have cut Energumene today from 11/4 to 2/1.

Who wins, I really don't know but I really hope it lives up to my expectations

Might have €1.50 ew on Amoola Gold if five go to post. He's a two time C & D winner on soft. Last year's winner First Flow makes too many mistakes for me. Hitman's form isn't very convincing. Energumene likes to make all, and this tactic surely can't work in perpetuity. Shishkin is the likeliest winner imo, but @ 4/7, he holds no appeal from a betting perspective.

Each way on Amoola Gold @ 66/1 perhaps, and maybe back him win w/o Shishkin if all 5 line up Saturday..

shishkin is an aeroplane imo and will take this up coming into the straight and win by 5 or 6

    Shiskin, at his ease.

    He's a total freak.

Great race to look forward to, if not really a betting proposition.

Have followed Shishkin since he won Supreme Novice Hurdle and really thought he was an absolute superstar (somewhat akin to Sprinter Sacre, although not yet having reached that level). However, there does seem to be a small cloud hanging over him from end of last season and early this season which may mean he is not quite at former performance levels.

Energumene on the other hand seems to be progressing well with time but to my mind has not yet reached Shishkin levels, although may well yet progress to that level.

At the end of last season I would have had Shishkin maybe 5 or 6 pounds ahead of Energumene, so if Shishkin has dropped by a few pounds whilst Energumene improves by a few pounds, there should be very little between them.

I expect Shishkin should win on balance of form, but it will be interesting to see how much is between the two. If the race is close, I think Energumene is the one that can improve for Cheltenham. Really look forward to seeing the two in action.

Shiskin's biggest asset is his jumping imo. If Energumene can jump well I think he can put it up to him, but he has to be foot perfect.

I guess we'll know the result from about 2 out though. If Shiskin is within 2-3L he wins, any more and it will be interesting
