Hi all, So, our offer on a house was accepted before Christmas. The house was built circa 1999 and it seemed to be in good nick. We had the survey done and there is a few repair issues- such as large crack going the whole way down the chimney breast. Cost could be up to 4k to repair. Surveyor also recommended all windows…

Agree with you if you dont ask, you dont get. Whilst its always a judgement call taking into account the particular circumstances, the key is in your approach I feel.
