    Is anyone watching this?

I know our man Cherry_Cola said he was going to it.

It seems a little chaotic on the pre-show, but it kinda feels like it should :)

Decent show, glad Gage was there, wouldn't have been the same without him.

Some great some awful as always with GCW, I thought the Lucha trios was the best match on the card. Loved the Fcuk Bully Ray chant too!

I had to go to the bed before it could all start properly, so I'm gonna watch it this morning. I like the intro, very ECW.

Was unreal craic! I'll throw some pics up in the next day once I've recovered. Went to a strip club with Janela 😅

You didn't go to a strip club "with Janela". You paid 10 bucks just like I did to go to Rick's Cabaret where Janela was hosting the GCW afterparty. There's no need to exaggerate bro. Makes me think your regular posts about partying with wrestlers might be equally exaggerated.

Someone's triggered. An alt account for the Pepsi Challenge bitch perhaps who blocked me? I see I'm already blocked by you so you weren't interested in a response.

I didn't pay a penny in and was escorted to a private booth and had drinks paid for me and my friends who I should mention are promoters in LA. Not exaggerated in the slightest and have multiple pics and videos to prove otherwise. I'm a director now in the big biggest tech company in the world and this is the first I've seen of your posts. I don't need to exaggerate ****, you couldn't afford the life I have lad 😂

Anyway, will have pics of my weeks adventures up next week once back. Busier living life than posting about it from my parents house. Some people didn't learn anything from lockdown it seems.

Happy to stop these posts though if people are not into it, all good with me but enjoy chatting wrestling with fellow Irish folk, I absolutely love it and it's great to share with folks that have similar experiences.

I have not blocked you or anyone one here but it seems the only one triggered is you with all the name calling.

The saying holds true: real rich people don't brag about their wealth, fake rich people do. All you do is post about how much money you make and wrestlers you party with. The fact that you need validation from random strangers online shows me that it's all exaggerated or likely completely fabricated. If you actually had wealth you'd be out enjoying your life instead of gloating about it on the internet. We're here to discuss wrestling and are sick of you derailing the topic with you trying to feel superior to us by bragging about you supposed wealth or status.

    That reads like a copypasta.

    Anyway.........

This show was exactly what I was expecting, an absolute mess, the ring was too small, the cameras looked like iphone 4s, and they clearly gave cardona free reign and his match went ridiculously over time, which crippled the main event.

The lucha tag was great, and the preshow scramble hopefully got eyes on the likes of ninja mack and Dante Leon, but all the gcw outlaws who were put in a prominent position (AJ Gray, Effy, Allie Katch) absolutely **** the bed and looked like untrained backyarders.

I really want gcw to succeed, but if that had been the first show of theirs I watched, there mightn't be a second.

As someone who watches the occasional show I have to ask what is it this promotion wants to be? Does it want to be like ECW or CZW? They do seem to go from wrestling matches to messy extreme/death matches.

I'm not a big follower of GCW at all, but I'd agree with hynesie that it did seem strange that so few of their stars went over. I do feel like I want to go and see some more stuff from the likes of Effy and Allie Katch, but I don't know if the company has done itself any favours by letting "outsiders" like Jarret or Soho come in and beat their wrestlers. Someone like Mox holding their world title brings eyes I suppose and bringing in bigger names is always intended on getting more eyeballs and butts on seats, but maybe they might have approached this differently?

I do not think GCW knows what it is itself right now it has had a pretty sudden rise in prominence since may last year and nic gage episode of dark side of the ring and they are just going with the flow at the moment not trying to lose there roots while expanding and using bigger names. There is a place for GCW to keep its death matches and the likes of nic gage for the hardcore fans but they need to expand beyond that like ECW did.

I watched the 2 shows from the weekend before this to try to get up to speed with GCW. It's not my thing, but it was such an important show that I felt it needed to be watched so I tried to get primed from it. That was a mistake. Obviously I'd heard/read the many criticisms of GCW and my own brief watching experiences in the past only backed up those beliefs. This show from Hammerstein was pretty much the nail in the coffin for any potential fandom I may have for GCW. A few thoughts:

I hate Effy. The presentation is terrible, the work is bad, but more than that the gimmick is like something parachuted straight out of the 70's with a woke sheen to it. It's counter-productive, it's reductive, a bad stereotype. Anthony Bowens, AC Mack, Jake Atlas, out gay wrestlers who are a positive representation for the community. I write that as a gay pro wrestling fan.

My biggest takeaway from the 3 shows that I watched was that either Matt Cardona is the single most polished pro wrestler on the planet, or that he's actually just made to look that way in comparison to the GCW lot. The presentation, his look, his promos, his work all stick out like a particularly sore thumb on these shows. He's a PRO wrestler, and this roster contains very very few of those.

Allie Katch might have the worst look of any pro wrestler in a semi-major-major company going today. Aesthetics are important. That's not to say that everybody should look like Lex Luger/Torrie Wilson, but the look should be in line with the gimmick. Her look is low rent.

My God how do you do this type of show, essentially a victory lap for all the growth this company has had, position yourselves as the outsiders and end up having all your own stars lose to outsiders. How does Double J swindle you and leave your biggest show having beaten probably your best home-grown (or at least one most closely associated with your brand)guy?

The main event was hilarious for how much of a dumpster-fire it was.

Technical issues inhibited the show from start to finish. On PPV, that's just not good enough.
