Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have that mixer, got it four years ago. I mostly use it for cakes and pizza dough, it gets used once or twice a week pretty much every week and I'm very happy with it. If you're doing large quantities of bread or pizza dough I might go for a more powerful motor and bigger bowl but I do batches of pizza dough of 800g usually and it does that no problem. My mother had a similar one, fairly basic model and it lasted over 25 years with similar usage levels. It died a few years back and she replaced it with a very similar one - maybe 1200W, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the reply! I'd say my usage would be the same tbh.

You can get new motors online and they're good for another 25+ years.

    Have a 1970's one, they're built like brick sh*thouses.

I hope to not need one for a long time, but good to know! Mam's had smoke coming out of it so I don't think she was up for repairing it after that.

Thanks folks, I saw they had the 1200w kvc5100 on the site for the same price and went for that. Nice solid unit!

Kenilworth Electrical, 253 Harold's Cross Road, Dublin, D6W DH22, repair Kenwood mixers.

They repaired my wife's 1970s mixer, said it was much better than the latest models.
