    Hi Folks,

    Here is the situation:

I want to buy an apartment (second floor), just under the roof of the property (which contains 20 units total).

The roof is going to be replaced this year.

I would be ok to stay in the apartment while the roof is being replaced.

Is there any law that compels anybody (tenant or owner) to leave the apartment while the roof is being replaced? Chances are that during the repair, the whole property is going to turn into a construction site and that supposes some safety measures.

If it's compulsory, that means that I would have to find a temporary dwelling for 3-4 months and I would be repaying the mortgage + paying a rent for 3-4 months. So that property might end up being a pickle and I should stay away from it.

    I'd appreciate any inputs.

    Thank you.
