Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What was the point of that kick by Carbery? Too deep, the chasers never had a chance

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,233 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

Obviously related to pressure France are putting on but have regressed to over kicking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

thought that maul was looking good. more silly mistakes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,500 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

This feels like a WC performance from Ireland so far, awful stuff. Terrible decision making and lots of handling errors.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

France have also been very good at disrupting lineout ball from source. Whether it be at the maul or in the air.

    Finally pings a crooked throw

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,700 ✭✭✭Gusser09

The Wallabies will be regretting letting Mackenize Hansen go. Looks like a baller.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Huge problems at the ruck. Aki and Ryan make carried over the gainline, but nobody is there at the next ruck to clear out.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭A-Train

No way was the France 7 supporting his body weight there

    again, silly mistakes.

    french too powerful

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,994 ✭✭✭c.p.w.g.w

The ref is ignoring offside and players not supporting their own bodyweight...so far...

Also a bit of sealing off not being called for both sides

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,001 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

To ask a tough question - are there drugs in French pro Rugby ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,738 ✭✭✭Shehal

No chance that was a TO.

Saying we are playing like a QF is the best example of this match so far from an Irish perspective. I would kill for us to go in at halftime 6 points down as we need to get back in the changing room and regroup.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,536 ✭✭✭touts

Gibson Park is being destroyed out there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,994 ✭✭✭c.p.w.g.w

Every top level sport has that problem... personally know of lads in Ireland who used while 16-19 and then stopped when they got their development contracts

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 8,140 ✭✭✭fitz

Ah, so he DOES know about offside....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

dodge by doris. looked like a neck role

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,229 ✭✭✭A-Train

At least the ref can ref the offside line but just against the team in green

We are not being allowed to be at the races today.

  • Registered Users Posts: 116 ✭✭Juventu4

Of course there is, to pack on that size and still have a jawline and a certain lower body fat percentage indicates peds.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    We've been bullied this half.

The French work at the breakdown is impeccable and they're pushing us back in contact too.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,924 ✭✭✭KH25

The ruck is a mess. No protection from Ireland and the French are just lying on top of players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,178 ✭✭✭Brief_Lives

    JGP having a mare....

What ever about complaining about the ref, we're getting destroyed at the rucks. Can't win a game like that.

This screams like a QF performance where we wait until there is no way back before we start playing.

  • Registered Users Posts: 762 ✭✭✭starkid

    bit of a humbling here.

i think the NZ win (who were in poor shape) has given us a totally false perspective of where Irish rugby is. The idea that some of these lads are set in stone should be done away with. We talk about physicality but one of the most physical players in Ire can't get a sniff in and Conan has been poor here.

the only positive is that we are at such a professional point that we are only 9 points down. in the olden days this would be already a 30 point gap.

a loss to England and we're basically back to square one.

We're killing ourselves here. Park having a stinker.

We need more chargedowns like that from Beirne.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,575 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

That's just awful. Whole team is off kilter

Men against boys out there a bit. Ringrose, Aki going well.

JGP is having an absolute mare, Doris not at the races either.

Very hard to see where we're going to get back into this without some changes being made

    Big wake-up call

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,843 ✭✭✭Panrich

    Very poor from Keenan there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,536 ✭✭✭touts

Farrell will earn his money at half time. Some big calls to be made. If Gibson Park comes out for the second half then I would fear a 50 point hammering.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Game is already over. We won't claw back a 12 point gap against a side with the superior lineout, scrum and ruck work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,174 ✭✭✭Xander10

Murray has to come on for the SH

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,575 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

    We're fucked here

Ireland getting mangled in the scrum and generally.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,258 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

every time over the gain line. no counter rucking, or probably more so not being allowed. too powerful and fast

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,233 ✭✭✭ClanofLams

Getting beaten up front. Gibson Park has had a shocker, poor passing, poor kicking, too slow to rucks, missed tackles. Might as well give Murray a chance for second half but hard to see any way back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

    Ryan off already as well.

Hope to god it's not another head knock.

We can talk about the breakdown yet a 5'11 88 kg winger has been more effective at the breakdown then our entire pack has been...Says it all really.

We really havent been good enough in the slightest here, we've completely rolled over which is disappointing. You just knew how that was going to go the minute Keenan took that kick...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,997 ✭✭✭almostover

Rucks are a mess so we're best to get POM on for Conan at HT. Gardner allowing France fly in off their feet. Think we should have gone with a 6/2 split on the bench with either Baird or Commbes on the bench. We're being murdered up front.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,575 ✭✭✭✭AbusesToilets

Porter's shoulder starts off bent in and only gets worse. Your LH shouldn't be getting turned in like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,444 ✭✭✭PokeHerKing

That NZ game feels a long time ago now. We've looked very average in both games of this tournament so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,108 ✭✭✭happyoutscan

    Well that was shite.

  • Administrators Posts: 54,110 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

Porter is getting deck chaired every scrum. Doris couldn’t catch a cold. JGP absolutely mince so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,150 ✭✭✭Gru

I dont always understand the scrum calls as it seems to be pot luck often, but did the French not just turn rather than drive the turn? I didn't think you could just turn like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,225 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

We've not looked like scoring other than through a flukey try.

Been a while since I've seen us so blown apart by a side so much more physically dominant.

  • Registered Users Posts: 762 ✭✭✭starkid

Gibson Park was never good enough. we've kidded ourselves over and over. our hubris over our pedigree is being shown for what it is today.

the nz win was possibly the worst thing to happen us.

Wales were missing 8 lions and nearly 16 front line players.

    Time to wake up.

now can we start seeing some work being done with our depth. Baloucoune, Lowry, Coombes, and others.

and we stop with the excessive circle jerk and pat backing over our style...

That last 10 mins was sobering enough.

We need a fast start to the second half. If we score first we are still in this.
