No mention in your report that the LPR are claiming that the Zolote cauldron is now completely closed. Might take a couple of days for media over here to report it.

They got some but kinda stopped to use them along with similar drones they got from usa. They do have limited survivability now as russians brought in more anti air. Average of about 2 mission max lifespan. They want more kamikaze drones as they make more sense at this stage.

This is going to happen the more Ukrainians are winning and the more desperate the Russians get. False flags are Russian regime specialty like any sort of deception, lying or similar.

From the broadcaster who was taken off broadcast in large parts of the world for spreading lies and propaganda? RT TV is junk.

And dozens more stories like it if you search around.

In fairness the Ukrainians are not exactly winning right now, they need more heavy weapons. Right now Russians are still making slow gains in Donbas so have no need for false flags

Why would they bomb their own oil refinery as a false flag? There are less critical things to bomb than oil refineries

An attack against strategic infrastructure is vanishingly unlikely to be a false flag.

Russians forces not on hurry and they doesn't have any deadlines. They simply moving slow saving own and civilian lifes.

The main targets are Ukraine demilitarisation and denazyfication what they do slowly but rightly.

They could easily get Kyiv flattened to the ground but they doesn't use USA army tactics.

Denazification? Of a democratic country Ukraine led by a Jew, where Jews were living in peace until Russia sent in its military, by a gangster fascist dictatorship Russia?

Denazification? By a country Russia who deploys 'Wagner Group' Neo Nazi mercenaries into the conflict?

And don't even bother trying to defend it with the lie that Wagner was chosen for any reason other than it being Hitler's favourite composer.

Demilitarisation? Ukraine will have more military equipment by the end of this than it started with. It seems to be doing a good job of demilitarising Russia.

We've heard these lies before. Even Putin and Lavrov basically owned up to them all being lies to feed as propaganda cover and nothing more when they said they was about getting back 'what was theirs' and wiping Ukraine off the map.

You need to get up to speed with the latest propaganda from your sources, this stuff is old hat.

Very soon Ukraine will not have army which will use those weapons and if somebody will stay alive it will be only POWs in camps.

The war will be ended by end of this year.Summer is not Winter.Did you ever heard about "Russian Winter" ?After war people of Ukraine will rise plenty questions to Zelenskij about war happened and people died.

Please don't forget that there is plenty pro Russian people on Ukraine and before war there was plenty Pro Russian political parties.

The more Ukraine regions as Herson already decided be part of Russia and more on way.

RT seem to be trying to evade their EU ban and sanctions using likes of the "free speech" service the pro Russia poster linked.

Russian state-owned outlets and their audiences are actively attempting to test the limits of the ban through multiple workarounds and a variety of methods. RT and Sputnik staff accounts as well as other Russia state-owned outlets, such as RIA Novosti, continue to spread Russian propaganda on social media. Other media outlets are publishing verbatim copies of RT and Sputnik articles. For example, an article citing the Russian Foreign Ministry, published by ZAROnews on the 2 March 2022, was a copy of an article published by Sputnik a day earlier. It is unclear why they are reposting copies of their content. They may be seeking economic gain (e.g. increased website traffic that converts into advertising revenue) or else they may be ideologically aligned with RT and Sputnik. The original domain of RT DE, which is now inaccessible, began using other domain names that were almost identical. RT DE has also registered accounts on alternative platforms, including VK, Odysee, and Yandex. VK is mainly used for links to other platforms providing video content, while Odysee is used to link to copycat accounts on mainstream platforms.

Seems similar to how groups of online extremists end up linked to acts of violence "in the real", get removed by the main platforms + migrate to alternatives who don't mind the smell.

Have really come to think the internet (in Western countries) needs a a good cleansing (with fire!) of the dictatorship-sponsored mind rotting garbage it is riddled with + a ground-up rethink of how it works for good of democracy.

You haven't even attempted to defend your earlier claims (which are nothing more than the lies of Russian propaganda), but shift the goalposts to more Russian propaganda, again, without sources...

    Your posts have no credibility.

Pile of lies from a pile of liars. Have you anything else to add other then to claim people you have never met or spoken to have no knowledge?

I have seen people on this thread who have lived in Ukraine, Russia, Czech Republic, Lithuania share their knowledge and experience here. People who have had personal friends return to Ukraine to fight making comments. People who are widely read and knowledgeable join the discussion.

Then you jump in with a comment that is barely literate stating no-one knows anything about Ukraine and pointing people towards the biggest state propaganda machine since Joseph Goebbels was spouting shite. Its a pathetic contribution mister 1917.

They could easily get Kyiv flattened to the ground

    Please detail how.

The well known facts is :

Russia has unlimited supply of fuel and weapons which Russian army are trained work with.

Russian aviation has 100 per cent control over sky in Ukraine.

Any Ukrainian oil factory doesn't produce fuel.Shortage of fuel in country fuel can only be imported.

    No planes and helicopters left.

Ukrainian army doesn't know how use weapons from West and has to get training what takes time and when they die they can't be replaced immediately.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,484 ✭✭✭Fighting Tao

You obviously missed Putin stating that it is a land grab, nothing to do with Nazis at all. It was on Russian media but the type for internal consumption only. The useful idiots in the west are still being fed the nonsense about Nazis.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,235 ✭✭✭paul71

That is an interesting point fly-agaric, and something I have long pondered.

A few pages ago I brought of the subject of freedom and licence. Generally extremists will jump on the "Freedom of Expression" bandwagon when their lies are called out and sensible people seek to censor them. They see the word censure and cry freedom, but they do not understand freedom. Freedom is to speak truth to power, licence is the opportunity to say whatever evil shite or lie polutes your mind and say it without consideration of the harm it does and to be shielded yourself from the effects of that harm.

Revolution 1917 from the anonymity of a hidden internet account spouts lies and propaganda about a despotic regime engaging in an unprovoked invasion. He tells lies and expects protection from the consequences of those lies, therefore he seeks licence not freedom. He fundamentally fails to understand what freedom is. In addition his rudimentary misunderstandings go a lot further than that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,235 ✭✭✭paul71

Indeed Tao, another failing of the weak willed and easily lead by extremists is that they are often too dull-witted to keep up with the latest lie.

Correct: the Russians would have bombed an apartment building etc as a false flag. You don't false flag your own critical infrastructure - you go for an emotion evoking target of little military importance (and the Russians have little compunction about having their population die).

  • Registered Users Posts: 29,461 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

You started with a pack of lies fed by Russian propaganda about denazification and demiliarisation, and continue in that vein.

Russia has unlimited supply of weapons? No source provided. Claim without foundation.

So no they don't. I expect they have an abundance of ammunition, guns etc but they don't have unlimited tanks, ships, rocket systems, missiles, aircraft. They can't get new ships into the war zone as Turkey closed the straits.

Russia is running short on key munitions due to sanctions:

    https://www.newsweek.com/russias-guided-missile-shortage-has-been-deadly-ukraines-civilians-1708197

If Russian aviation has 100% control over sky in Ukraine, why are their planes still being shot down? Why aren't they flooding the skies with their unlimited aircraft? Because they haven't neutralised the danger to their aircraft from Ukraine anti aircraft defences. So no, they don't "control the skies" because even if they have air superiority versus other aircraft they cannot use the airspace without significant risk.

Of course it will take time for Ukraine to train more soldiers and train up on new equipment. But already, they are having an impact. If Ukraine doesn't know how to use weapons from West, why are they now hitting targets at longer range such as oil platforms and snake island targets?

Is there a way for this thread not to be a revolving door of bots/russo-fetishists coming in spouting the same garbage over and over? Feels like it's been primarily stuck in this mode for a while now.

The official answer,I believe is to report posts that are substandard

For example ,if I directly quote a post with a question or a request for clarification and do not get what I perceive as an honest or direct reply after two or three attempts I would report those posts.

This is supposed to be a discussion forum

If anyone has a problem or an issue with the moderation it is,I understand forum rules to bring it up in one of the feedback threads and not in the thread itself.

  • Registered Users Posts: 213 ✭✭bobowen

Haha. You cant drop truth bombs on these people. Their heads will explode.

They wont refute anything you post in detail. They'll just keep calling you a liar (or worse) and hope you'll go away.

very off topic...Interesting way of looking at it/describing it (did not see your other post). I have been thinking about it as well. Considered making my first thread since God was a boy for some discussion of the subject (this isn't really the place for it, its only tangentially related to the Ukraine war) but just haven't bothered. It's been a factor in several events the last few awful years, and now its an important aspect of this struggle we are all now in with Russia/Putin whether we like it or not.

The information superiority/imbalance dictatorships like Russia have is only one part of their fairly easy (at least to date) access to our societies and systems in the West (like the internet) while reverse does not apply. They use it to benefit, to leverage this access against us when necessary, or to subvert and destroy. They've become parasites on us.

A part (not all though?) of the answer to problems online I think could be stripping most of the anonymity away. Your id would in the main follow you about clearly & obviously to everyone given how important the online space is now to society. If you wouldn't say it stood up on soapbox in front of the world or in a public newspaper letters/opinion section for fear of being ridiculed or hated, should you get to say it online safely from behind a mask?

Yeah, joe soap like me may be more reluctant to comment freely but the bad actors will be driven back into the shadows + isolated corners where they used to be, or all will see clearly who/what they are if they are still brave enough to comment without the shields up. That will be worth it on balance.

Indeed. This is how Russia paints their early and obvious failure to secure Kyiv. Clearly not realising how little local support they would find. Even though they threw the bulk of their forces at it. The many kilometers long columns of Russian vehicles heading in the direction of Kyiv was a "clever tactic". Now they claim they could have done it but wanted to save civillian lives. Then again they're taught a very different history of WW2/the Great Patriotic war and how Stalin was too clever for the Germans and let them in only to encircle them. No mention of him and Hitler dividing up the Baltics before the invasion of Russia. The Great Patriotic War starts conveniently after that stuff.

Now Russia traditionally fights like this. They usually make a total failure of opening strategies, but then start learning. And throwing more bodies at the problem. This happened in WW2 and more recently Georgia and Chechnya(though they fecked up Afghanistan from the start and never learned). But this is happening again in Ukraine. Total amateur hour at the start, but have learned and are now concentrating all their firepower in Donbas and using artillery rather than ground forces which were outclassed elsewhere. Which if they had any clue(and I said this from the start) they should have done from the start. If as their stated aim was to "protect the independent regions". It wasn't of course.

Russian sympathisers truly believe that Russia has total air superiority, which they've claimed from the first few weeks, yet at the same time would claim to have shot down another jet/helicopter from the non existent Ukrainian airforce... They're also quite convinced Bucha was staged(by the CIA, who also hand a role in Chernobyl for some of them. Yep), that Russian troops respect civilian lives and infrastructure and this is a war of defence. That Ukrainian forces were about to drive into Donbas to massacre Russians only Czar putin was there to save them(smells of Sudetenland, Poland among others...).

To be fair the Donbas is a nightmare of long standing. The Ulster Troubles on steroids, with both Moscow and Kyiv backing their side in years of ethnic struggle and murder.

The two things that Russia has are petrochemicals and nuclear weapons. That's it. Without them and if a conventional war with the rest of the West kicked off they would be over run within weeks, if not days. They'd certainly find out what air superiority actually means in the first 48 hours.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

You didn't joy army service by the way and you are not Irish nationality because English not your Mother tongue.

I think you are Ukrainian bot which spreading propaganda here.Oil rig not Oil Platform !

I joined army service for 12 months and been for 12 more months on contract.

The first at all no need show me USA propaganda links which was telling lies about Iraq chemical weapons

By your logic if somebody can throw stone to the plane in air the air not controlled by plane ? Buddy when Ukrainian air forces will hit Russian planes down then you could tell me stories that Russia doesn't control sky by 100 per cent ! Unfortunately Ukraine air forces doesn't exist anymore.

You gona tell us that you could take 19 years boy which wasn't in army before and when he will get any mashine gun he will fight like Rambo ? I am not talking about heavy armed vehicle.

Oil rigs been hit by Ukrainian rockets ? Surely ! The only thing your Ukrainian Heroes could do is shooting to unarmed static targets with innocent people on board ! Putin was right calling Ukraine terrorists country !

There is no way for Russia to 'win' this war now.

It may drag on for years probably forcing change in Russia.

It is also possble that Ukraine with more weapons could push Russia back to the frontiers.

It could spill over involving other states (even worse for Russia)

If Russia can hold areas of Ukraine it won't be able to develop and use their resources so no benefit to them.
