I need to connect a 12 volt Milwaukee battery pack to a 12 volt Makita saw. I have a battery holder for the Milwaukee battery that takes a standard 5.5 mm power plug. What diameter of wiring do I need to handle the current for the saw motor ? I can't see a rating for it & right angle 5.5 mm plugs all seem to be prewired…

The 5.5mm plug is surely the charging lead? That doesn't carry the full battery current so is probably sized for <2A. Can you clarify whether you're talking about charging or powering from battery?

Definitely power. It usually connects the battery to a Milwaukee heated jacket
