Genuine Text or Scam???

I received at text message that came from the same contact as other genuine texts saying my account was limited please follow the steps to reactivateL onlineasksuport-service.com

I don't see any messages in my online account showing a problem

Is this a scam?

I'd nearly guarantee it is.

Find a number independently, ring it yourself, and ask.

Lots of these scam messages are coming through existing chat threads. God knows how they do it.

I have had scam messages come in the same string of genuine bank messages. Definitely a scam. Don't click on the link!

Also, I don't think these "Talk To" threads are active any more on here, so I wouldn't necessarily be expecting an answer from Bank of Ireland.

As I said above, ring yourself, a number that you've found yourself.

God knows how they do it.

they spoof the CallerID so it appears to come from the same number that BoI uses. Your phone then inserts it into the existing conversation with BoI.

Thanks for checking this with us here. We can confirm this is not a genuine text. Bank of Ireland will never text or email asking customers to access a link to a log in page. Unfortunately, it's quite easy for fraudsters to make their texts appear in the same thread as genuine messages from Bank of Ireland by using a sender id of BOI or similar.

If you receive further texts like this please forward a screenshot to 365security@boi.com then delete the text.
