Unable to go to private profile mode

Tried changing my settings to Private Profile

When attempting to change to Private profile I get the following message in red:

"Usernames must be 3-20 characters and consist of letters, numbers, and underscores."

My username appears greyed out also.

Anyway to fix this?

Yes. You’ll need to change your username and remove the ! after your name. Vanilla doesn’t seem to allow usernames with special characters to sign up, but imported names like yours were not affected for some reason. Drop Niamh an email to hello [at] boards [ie] and she’ll take it from there.

Yes indeed. Thanks Beasty. 'Yurt' without the '!' is just fine.

If that's unavailable (which I think it might be from what I recall when signing up), Yurt2 will suffice.
